Cone Beam Computed Tomography (DVT/CBCT)

Cone Beam Computed Tomography (DVT/CBCT)

Cone beam computed tomography (DVT/CBCT) is the diagnostic backbone of modern implantology and oral surgery. It provides a precise 3D image of bone, nerves and the maxillary sinus – with a significantly lower radiation dose than a conventional CT and considerably greater diagnostic value than a 2D X-ray.

With cone beam computed tomography (DVT/CBCT) we plan every implant placement three-dimensionally – including the position of nerves and the maxillary sinus. This minimises risks and maximises success rates.

Treatment process

  1. PreparationNo special preparation needed. The procedure is painless and takes only a few minutes.
  2. ProcedureYou sit or stand still; a ring-shaped scanner rotates once around the head and produces a series of images.
  3. Data ProcessingThe images are assembled into a detailed 3D model and analysed on screen.

Your benefits

  • Implantology: assessment of bone density, depth of the maxillary sinus and proximity to nerves or blood vessels
  • Maxillofacial surgery: precise visualisation for sinus lift and bone augmentation
  • Diagnosis of dental and jaw conditions: detection of cysts, tumours or inflammatory processes
  • Endodontics: valuable information for root inflammation and complex root canal treatments
  • Periodontology: assessment of bone involvement in periodontal disease
  • Orthodontics: planning for malpositioned teeth and jaw anomalies
